As the destroying forces of disease overtake the human body, the determination of the human spirit keeps struggling for life, while, at the same time, yearning to go home for peace and rest.

It was at the bedside of a gravely ill friend that Mary Lowe realized that there are few tools to smooth the passage from life to death. This friend was near death with cancer after having suffered for many months.
